To The Couple I Always Pass By in the Morning

Note: This blog serves to help you in coming up with short story ideas. Please note that some of the ideas in the blog are downright silly and not meant to be taken as is. You can get the gist of the entry and alter it any way you want, for any purpose whatsoever.

Rudy and Linda are 82 and 80 years old, respectively. Everyday, they walk from their house to a nearby McDonald's, grab coffee, and then walk back home, coffee cup in hand. They hardly talk, but you could see that they depend so much on each other.

Their lives in the past had not been without trials. They survived being forbidden to marry by Linda's strict parents. Rudy overcame brushes with death when he went to war. They overcame the trials of raising their kids and being left when they grew up.

Then one day, Linda died in her sleep. And Rudy became a mere shadow of what he once was. As he reminisces about his wife and their love, the people who pass by them during their morning walks wonder why they never see them anymore.
