Tip: Start From the Bottom

When writing, especially if you're a beginner, you have to understand and accept that you won't be a superstar over night. Or that you would write a blockbuster novel on your first try. It just doesn't happen. But you know that already.

Of course you know that already, so why are you pressured into writing a high-quality narrative right now? Let go of your fears and be serious but have the relaxed mentality of a person who knows what he's writing probably won't be read by many people.

This way, you won't care if you produce the biggest garbage this side of the Earth. Who's going to read it, anyway. But more importantly, this gives you freedom to write for yourself. Just write a story. Period.

Here's the kicker, however. You have to accept the mistakes you did on your first try and subsequent tries and try to remove them. Step by step. One mistake by one mistake. Continually improve yourself until you create the most magnificent story ever told.

You'll get there.
