Weekly Meeting

Note: This blog serves to help you in coming up with short story ideas. Please note that some of the ideas in the blog are downright silly and not meant to be taken as is. You can get the gist of the entry and alter it any way you want, for any purpose whatsoever.

One night on a warm summer evening, a man decides to end it all- by committing suicide.

He decided to jump over a bridge when police officers find him about to scale over the safety railing. They were able to stop him.

He tried it again the next week, but this time he was found by a group of nuns.

Another week, and a streetchild stopped him.

The next, an old man talked some sense into him.

More and more, as weeks go by with his unsuccessful attempts, he meets a lot of people. These people start to gather for his weekly "suicide attempts"and talk. They would pretend to stop him and they'll have a coffee at a nearby cafe and spend the night talking and laughing. It was a beautiful sight: police, nuns, teachers, streetchildren- talking and laughing as if they were old acquaintances.

The man realized that attempting suicide made him a lot of friends, which is (un)ironic, because lack of friends is what drove him to do it in the first place.
