One Death, A Million Lives

Note: This blog serves to help you in coming up with short story ideas. Please note that some of the ideas in the blog are downright silly and not meant to be taken as is. You can get the gist of the entry and alter it any way you want, for any purpose whatsoever.

The Plot:

Roberto was killed in an accident one Tuesday morning on the way to the office. Because of this, his office mates and those who worked with him in the past were filled with rage and shock at his sudden  passing. After a period of grieving, they all came back to their normal lives. Then something happens that rocks their world.

The Hanger:

It all began when Richard, the office's janitor, was walking in an alley on the way to his home. He passed by a person who looked just like Roberto, but he thought it was because he was still in shock of the latter's passing that he keeps seeing his face wherever he goes.

But when he saw the man again the second time and then the third time, Richard became suspicious and followed him. He realized what he had been suspecting all along: Roberto is alive. But what was he doing in the slums? Why did he leave the comforts of his $500-per month condominium in exchange for a life in the squatter's area?

When Richard relays this to the office, they decided to convince Roberto to come back.

The Twist:

Roberto wanted to use his life insurance money to help the poor, while now, learning that he is alive, the insurance company is suing him for fraud.
